Tackling workplace stress
Stress is the number one cause of ill health at work. Knowing what it is and what causes it is the first step to tackilng it successfully!
Introduction
This BECTU course is based on the idea that there is such a thing as stress (many employers are in denial) and that the way many people work contributes to the stress they are under - and can make them ill!
This is not a course about how to cope with stress or manage it - there are many courses that offer these. This course is dedicated to identifying what causes workplace stress and what can be done about it. In particular, the course will examine in detail how to use health and safety legislation to tackle stress. You will also, learn how to involve colleagues in campaigning to reduce and eliminate the causes of stress.
