Editing courses

BECTU runs subsidised courses in Introductory Final Cut Pro, Intermediate Final Cut Pro and Adobe AfterEffects. We are able to do this through support from the Union Learning Fund.

Introduction to Final Cut Pro (2-day course)

April 28th&29th                June 16th&17th              November 17th&18th

Fee: £160

A comprehensive introduction to editing techniques. Gain a practical understanding of the post-production process, including: capturing,editing, working with sound and music, colouring, effects and graphics, encoding for web and DVD, basic DVD authoring. Required: basic computer skills. Experience of Macs not necessary.

 

 

Intermediate Final Cut Pro (2-day course)

 

August 11th&12th

 

Fee: £170

 

This course assumes a working knowledge of Final Cut Pro. Areas such as colour correction, basic compositing, media management, and motion effects will be explored. Students are welcome to bring media and work on their own projects.

 

Introduction to Adobe After Effects (1-day course)

 

9th September

 

Fee: £75

 

In this course you will cover the fundamentals of using After Effects, from finding your way around the interface to creating title sequences with masks and making simple but effective animations. The session will consist of interactive practical projects that will introduce all the skills you need to develop your knowledge of this popular video effects software. Required: basic computer skills.Experience of Macs not necessary.
